Cartoon Network UK Children’s BAFTA 2016 Nominations
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has released their nomination short lists for the 2016 BAFTA Children’s Awards. The BAFTA Children’s Awards have been running since 1996 and was created to celebrate the creative success of high quality television programming and interactive content aimed at British children. A BAFTA award is considered to be one of the most prestigious awards in the UK media industry. This year, Cartoon Network UK has achieved five nominations including Children’s Channel Of The Year with one nomination for We Bare Bears in the Favourite TV Show BAFTA Kids Vote category. Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, an acquired show that also airs on Cartoon Network UK, has been shortlisted in the same category and is up for the public vote.
Turner UK’s Great Marlborough Productions’ very own The Amazing World of Gumball has achieved two nominations this year for Best UK Animated Show and for Best Story Writing. Cartoon Network Studios’ We Bare Bears has also been nominated in the Best International Show category.
This year, the Children’s BAFTA awards ceremony will take place on Sunday 20th November at its usual venue at The Roundhouse in London. Actor, writer and comedian Doc Brown will also be hosting the ceremony again this year.
Voting has already opened for the Favourite TV Show BAFTA Kids Vote category, please follow the link below and please vote for We Bare Bears if you like the show, also vote for your favourite video game and film. Lego Dimensions is also nominated for best video game, the game now features Adventure Time’s Finn and Jake, the game is developed by UK games studio Traveller’s Tales which is owned by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, a sister company of Turner (owners of Cartoon Network). Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens is also nominated for best game and is also made by Traveller’s Tales.
Cartoon Network UK has been nominated for Best Children’s Channel 2016, the channel won the award in 2014, good luck to the channel’s management and team for this year’s awards.
